In line with the implementation of a community water system in Masablang, Dominglay, a Project Management Orientation was conducted on May 1, 2014 which was attended by 27 participants representing the 26 households beneficiaries. In the CorDis project implementation scheme, project management training is required before an implementation of any community project to ensure proper management of a project. The outputs of the training were the policy and plan in the actual implementation including the formation of a project management team from the partner people’s organization and from the direct beneficiaries. The training provided basic knowledge and skills on the project cycle which helps the community on decision making. The orientation also provides tips on project monitoring and evaluation. Most of all, the orientation aimed to strengthen community cooperation and unity among community members.
For the people of Masablang, supply of potable water system had been a long standing problem in the community. The implementation of the training accompanied by water work project is a dream comes true as expressed in their willingness to undergo such training and render counterpart in a form of free labor and providing local materials.
