The Cordillera Disaster Response and Development Services (CorDisRDS) activated its Disaster Coordinating Structure (Discord), in preparation for Typhoon Pedring. CordisRDS have also alerted its provincial partners for monitoring and documentation in their provinces.

Typhoon Pedring is one of the strongest to hit the country this year with its rain and wind path twice as strong as average storms. According to DOST Undersecretary Graciano Yumul, “This typhoon is very wide in diameter, about 650 kilometers [400 miles], and covers most of [the main island of] Luzon,”.

PAG-ASA said that the eye of Typhoon Pedring is expected at Atok, Benguet , at 2 PM this afternoon. As of now, there are no reported casualties in the region; however, flash floods, land slide, strong winds and heavy rainfall are still expected in the next hours as the typhoon passes the region.
